cacoethes scribendi – a bad habit for compulsive writing

Hey everyone. This is just my first entry. So it’ll probably be very introductory. Contemplating on my screenname somewhere between “consilio et animis” and “Cacoethes scribendi”, I chose the former. I really do have a bad habit for compulsive writing, but ironically, my grade in advanced English comp goes to prove that having a bad habit for compulsive writing does not mean that I’m actually any good at it (writing, that is.) I got a B from my critical thinking advanced composition English class. Considering my peers were these aspiring writers who got A’s for their papers, it’s rather shameful to reveal my paper to them. I didn’t blame the professor for grading me the way he did. I didn’t fancy reading about U.S. Supreme Court cases anyway. I’m fluent in English, but English is also my 3rd language. FYI, I studied Latin in college and thus the screenname. Japanese is my fourth language. Latin is fifth (a dead language, but I think it still counts for something). I’m trying to make Korean my sixth, but we’ll see. Between volunteering at the hospital and school, I’ve got a zillion obligations. Writing isn’t a burden to me. I’ll probably treat this blog as a therapeutic tool. I hope I can maintain it. Being that it’s summer and that I’m taking the last of my GE courses, I’ve got time to shoot the breeze. It’s 3:46am right now and I’m supposed to be asleep right now, but I seriously have problems sleeping at a correct allotted time. Supposedly, they say exercise helps in getting regular with sleep. I exercise almost daily to regulate my fat ass, but I don’t think it helps with sleep. Hmm, I guess I’ll stop writing for now. Toodles.
